This year’s shoot had to be postponed from April to September because of flooding at the range, actually three floods, the highest being 8 feet! The electrical had to be replaced as did a lot of fixtures but you wouldn’t of known it by the way the grounds looked, absolutely pristine. Despite being on the weekend of the Fall Freedom shoot at Cardinal Center and the Sporting Clay Nationals the shoot was only down slightly with a total of 42 shooters and almost fourteen thousand targets thrown.
In Saturday’s Bill Talkington Singles Championship Junior Gold Megan Snyder broke her first 100 straight in singles competition despite only shooting 250 singles targets this year. She went on to be Champion when Robert Harden, the other 100 straight, forfeited the shoot-off and took Sr. Veteran honors. Not far behind were Class A Winner Nathan Stuckey and Veteran Winner Fred Dague with 99’s followed by the 98’s of Class B Winner Randy Jones and Juniors Cooper McCaslin and Emily Tenley who broke 25 in the shoot-off and won the buckle. Class C Winner Zachary Pethtel with a 97; Class D Winner Jr. Remington Roth and Sub Jr. Winner Logan Shaffer with a 94.
