News From the 118th Grand American West Virginians Make a Mark

Ten West Virginians traveled to compete in the 118th Grand American this week in Sparta, IL. Left to right Bob Harden, Cameron Bailey, Mark Isner, Toot Riggle, Fred Dague, Nicholas Harden, Sandra Spencer, Lonnie Spencer and Doug Dameron. Cameron Bailey of PawPaw, WV blasted a 200 straight, his first, in the Clay Target Championship and after a two round shoot off becomes the 2017
 AA Singles Champion. Cameron was pretty stoked with his accomplishment!

Sandra Spencer broke 198 along with two others in the Lady II  category of the Clay Target
Championship and after the shoot off for Runnerup and Third Sandra was declared Runnerup and Debbie Ohye third.

Fred Dague and Sandra Spencer represented the state in the Champion of Champions event on Wednesday.

Fred didn't get a massage but his targets looked the same.

Doug and Fred always have a cookout and this year there where two. Fred's farm hamburgers and all the fixings

Maynard & Sue Brooks of Tennesse fixed a big fish fry Wednesday at Doug's

and of course there's the cornhole championships,

  Earlier in the week Mark Isner shot a 97 and after winning the carryover was Class B runnerup in the
Little Egypt Golf Car Doubles Event #3 and Class A Third after another carryover in the
Mec Shooting Sports Singles Event #4. Bob Harden broke a 97 in Event #12 Rio Ammo Doubles and after
a carryover was Doubles Class B Runnerup.
