7th WVATA Hall of Fame Shoot Results

IT WAS HOT !!!!

Fifty shooters from 4 states descended on Mc Adoo Ridge at the Brooke County Sportsman and Farmers Association facility this Memorial Day weekend for the 7th Annual WVATA Hall of Fame Championship. Honoring this years Hall of Fame Inductees Mark Isner and Ken Connett. The temperature Saturday soared to 90+ degrees for the Mark Isner Singles Championship.  The heat was not a factor though for Michael Kemp or Curt Paul both posting near perfect 199's. Primarily because of the heat both Curt and Mike elected to decide the Singles Championship by the results of the next event, the Preliminary Handicap. Curt prevailed as Champion with Mike claiming the Class A trophy. Curt also won Open Veteran in the Handicap Championship as well as the HAA on the 400.  Scott Withrow shot a sizzling 100 straight, his first ever, from the 20.5 yard line to win the Preliminary Handicap event.  Sunday, Steve Sprout bested the field with a 98 to garner the Ken Connett Doubles Championship. Darrell Dowler broke 96 in the John Elliott Handicap to claim the Championship named for past HOF inductee John Elliott.

Between hundreds a dinner was provided for the Inductees, shooters and their families along with the presentation of plagues for Ken and Mark . Mark's eight month old granddaughter AVA her, mom, Jess, dad, Jeff and Mark’s wife, Bea were all on hand for the induction ceremonies. However, little AVA stole the show.

The WVATA  would like to thank Brooke County Sportsman and Farmers Association for hosting this years shoot  and fixing the delicious meal. Jason Kokosinski and his crew ran a trouble free and enjoyable shoot.
