Hampshire County's Robert Judy First West Virginian to Trophy @ 2014 Grand American

Four West Virginia shooters participated in the first day's events at the Grand American Trapshoot in Sparta, IL. Kinzy Smith, Lonnie and Sandy Spencer all well Known to the trapshooting community. Kinzy started his trapshooting career in 1965 and the Spencers started theirs in 1976, but it was Robert Judy who started shooting in 2013, staying after the Aim Competition earlier in the week where he trophied in 3 events, fired a 96 in Event #2 The Trap & Field Handicap to tie with 3 others for the top spot in the 18 - 21 yard group. After the shoot off Robert had bested the other two with a 24 to their 23's winning his first Grand American Trophy in only his 3rd Event on the Big Stage. Outstanding!

Robert pictured above with his new Remington 1100 competiton shotgun that he shot for the first time breaking 95 in singles and 96 in handicap winning his yardage group. I guess he likes his new gun!

Nick and I are leaving Friday morning to head out, I feeling like Street Outlaws Big Chief or Murder Nova on the starting line; bucking to go, starting Saturday we'll shoot with Mark Inser and the power duo Todd and Alec Sauble (Todd is the current WV Singles Champion & Alec the current WV Handicap Champion) I can't wait. See you there.
